Fault and Error of a Single Person

Me-ti said, “One generally hears it is more difficult to recover from blows for which one is without fault, than those one could prevent. I find the opposite. What strikes me through no fault of my own, bothers me relatively little but that misfortune which is my fault, knocks me flat. Of course, I do find myself responsible for a great many more things than are normally blamed on a person. Diseases also and even wars cause me to think over what kind of errors I can have made.”
